Announcement Consulate General Istanbul
Meeting for Dutch companies on EU-Turkey Customs Union and trade issues, Consulate General of the Netherlands, Thursday 26 January 2012
Trade relations between Turkey and the Netherlands have profited from the EU-Turkey Customs Union. At the same time, Dutch companies doing business with Turkey are sometimes confronted with trade problems, especially when exporting goods. The commercial department of the Consulate General of the Netherlands regularly receives questions regarding such problems; it is not always easy to determine what is and what is not allowed under the Customs Union. In order to throw some light on this issue, I am happy to invite you to a meeting with Mr. Michele Villani, First Counsellor (Head of Section Economy, Trade and Agriculture), EU Delegation in Ankara, where the Customs Union and its functioning will be discussed. Mr. Villani will give an introduction on the Customs Union, its consequences for EU-Turkey trade, the problems encountered and the state of the discussion between Turkey and the EU on improving the functioning of the Customs Union.
Programme:
Opening by Mr. Martijn Elgersma, dep. Consul General
Introduction by Mr. Michele Villani: “The EU-Turkey Customs Union: consequences for EU-Turkey trade”
Discussion of specific problems as submitted by companies related to the Customs Union
