Agenda 2012

Announcement Consulate General Istanbul

Business networking possibilities at 400 years Turkey-Netherlands cultural events

In 2012, it will be 400 years ago that Turkey and the Netherlands established diplomatic relations. This will be celebrated with a number of events in both countries, some of which may prove excellent opportunities for business networking. Economic events will be announced through the website of the Dutch economic network in Turkey (www.hollandturkeytrade.com), but there are also many cultural events planned in Istanbul which may serve as a good opportunity for Dutch companies to meet their Turkish business partners in a relaxed and culturally interesting atmosphere. Some events (opening events of exhibitions) will be on invitation only, for others tickets will be for sale through the normal channels.

The Consulate General of the Netherlands  in Istanbul will try to announce events in an early stage, so that interested companies have time to plan their attendance. For events that are on invitation only, the Consulate General will try to keep a number of invitations reserved for Dutch companies and their Turkish business partners they want to invite.

For certain exhibitions, there may be possibilities to organize an exclusive reception for one or more companies. In that case companies can directly contact the museum or approach the Consulate General, which will be happy to make contact with the museum.  In view of the expected interest and limitations on attendance from the side of the organizers, it is important for the Consulate General to know which Dutch firms are interested in attending events for business purposes (i.e. to invite their Turkish business relations).

Companies that make their interest known to the Consulate General through e-mail, will receive a regular update of events; they can then make their preference known by registering for an event; the Consulate General will then try to accommodate their wishes as much as possible.

If your company is interested in receiving a regular update of cultural events that may be used for business networking, please send a short e-mail to ist-ha@minbuza.nl.
